DAINTREE RAINFOREST TOUR
Your customized journey of the Daintree Forest departs from Cairns or Port Douglas. The Daintree Rainforest is part of Cape Tribulation, located two hours north of Cairns Daintree Forest The Daintree Rainforest is a region where literally 'the rainforest meets the reef'. This is a journey where travelers on vacation can experience a tropical forest wilderness of great significance - a beautiful example of Australia's natural heritage. The rainforest is a tropical dense jungle, most of it unstudied. At its edge is a long pristine beach of Cape Tribulation where you will walk on stretches of sand.
The Daintree Rainforest is significant because of its 100 million year old history. It contains the world's largest concentration of primitive flowering plant species. It is the oldest and second largest living rainforest in the world and it is the habitat of a variety of fauna the most famous of which is the 'saltwater' crocodile, the elusive Cassowary bird and the Tree Kangaroo.

You enter the Daintree Rainforest crossing by cable ferry and walk into the jungle escorted by your naturalist guide. Then onto Cape Tribulation, another region of the forest that is regarded as one of the richest repositories of primitive rainforest plants.
Lunch is at a quiet retreat. A BBQ of fillets steak and local reef fish, salads and tropical fruits.
You then board a riverboat to cruise the mangroves, home of the saltwater crocodile. Then onto a beautiful gorge and an opportunity for a refreshing swim and a stroll alongside the river.
